Founded in Paris in 1994 by Prosper Assouline and Martine Assouline, the company was born from a shared vision to present books as art pieces that unite culture, luxury, and design. The brand’s journey began with its first publication, La Colombe d’Or, which marked the start of its distinctive publishing philosophy—treating every book as a carefully crafted work of art, both in form and content. Today, Assouline’s books are displayed in museums and libraries around the world and are regarded as a symbol of contemporary French cultural elegance.

تأسست في باريس عام 1994 على يد الزوجين بروسبير أسولين ومارتين أسولين اللذين جمعتهما رؤية تهدف إلى تقديم الكتاب كقطعة فنية تجمع بين الثقافة والفخامة والتصميم. انطلقت الشركة بإصدار أول كتاب لها بعنوان لا كولوم دور La Colombe d’Or الذي مثّل بداية فلسفة النشر التي تميّزت بها العلامة حيث يُعامل كل كتاب كعمل فني مصمم بعناية في الشكل والمضمون وأصبحت كتبها تُعرض في المتاحف والمكتبات وتُعدّ رمز للأناقة الثقافية الفرنسية المعاصرة.
