The Maestro 3.0
The new GC3.0-TN-01 is an automatic chronograph version of its signature Maestro design in lightweight, mirror-polished Grade 5 titanium, a material that's as hard as steel, but 40 per cent lighter.
Gerald Charles’ watchmakers worked to maximise the movement’s accuracy and 50-hour power reserve, and to improve vibration and shock resistance.
Movement
For the GC3.0-TN-01 Chronograph, Gerald Charles returned to the Calibre Ref. GCA3022/12, an automatic chronograph movement based on the GCA3002. It too offers remarkable thinness, measuring just 6.07mm in height, including its bi-directional rotating oscillating weight, and also offers a twin-barrelled 50-hour power reserve. It showcases the best of fine Swiss tradition; conforming to Fleurier’s highest quality standards, enriched by Côte de Genève decorated bridges. The exquisite movement is visible through a sapphire crystal case back.
The Maestro case 3.0
Gerald Charles’ expert engineers had to master a number of technical challenges to craft the watch’s bespoke chronograph pushers, the Clous de Paris crown and the Maestro’s irregular shape in mirror-polished Grade 5 titanium, a highly resistant material much harder to manipulate into complex forms than stainless steel. The chronograph overall form has been designed to sit flat on the wrist, measuring only 11.5mm in depth.
100 metres water-resistance
The watch has been engineered with a bespoke gasket to seal the irregularly shaped sapphire crystal and to be water-resistant to 100 metres. Extensive tests have been conducted in the world’s deepest indoor pool built in 2014, thanks to the collaboration of our Friend and European champion in the 100m freestyle, Luca Dotto, who dove in apnea wearing the GC watches.
Royal Blue
The Gerald Charles strap in royal blue features its classic double-face decoration with Clous de Paris on one side and the GC logo’s tapisserie on the other. This is also an original design by Mr. Genta for the Swiss Maison. The strap material is a technical vulcanized rubber, chosen by the Maison to guarantee superior water resistance, strength, durability and comfort on wrist.
