The Original Navy SEAL
Luminox, which means “light for night” in Latin, were indeed a fitting choice for the Navy SEALs. These honoured warriors needed a reliable timepiece that could perform exceptionally well in low-light conditions. The Luminox Light Technology (LLT) was the key, as it emitted a consistent glow without relying on an external light source, unlike traditional luminous materials that need charging from sunlight or artificial light. Nick North, the assistant RDT&E officer for the Navy SEALs, stumbled upon Luminox watches. Their unique LLT caught his attention, and he realised they could be a game-changer for SEAL operations. Luminox founder Barry Cohen collaborated with Nick North to create a watch specifically tailored for the SEALs. The result? The Original Navy SEAL 3001 was introduced in 1994.
The Current Line-Up Of Luminox Navy SEAL

These watches gained popularity among many professional outfits, such as the U.S. Coast Guard, New York City Police Department, Singapore Air Force, Special Military Forces Israel, and many more. Today, the collection includes robust tool watches, such as the Navy SEAL Colormark 3051, the Luminox Navy SEAL 3500 military watches, the 3000 EVO, and more. All these watches honour the functional precepts of the original, featuring rugged construction, water resistance, and, most importantly, high luminosity, making the collection synonymous with durability, functionality, and exceptional visibility.
