Located in Saint Petersburg on the shores of the Baltic Sea, the Raketa Watch Factory has a long-standing history of producing watches for Soviet submariners. The Raketa “Sonar” continues this heritage through both its design and functionality.

Its hands are inspired by the instruments found on Soviet submarine control panels, while the watch is powered by the Raketa 2624A automatic 24-hour movement, allowing submariners to distinguish day from night during extended underwater missions. The dial and hands are fully luminescent for visibility in dark conditions.

Six coloured markers in red and blue divide the dial into six 4-hour segments, helping crew members track their watches and shifts aboard the submarine. The movement also features a bi-directional rotor, increasing winding efficiency — especially practical in the confined environment of a submarine.

The exhibition caseback reveals the beautifully decorated in-house 24-hour automatic movement, entirely manufactured by the Raketa Watch Factory in Saint Petersburg.
