The IWAO SUMI (Sumi Black) combines the practicality of a field watch with the intense presence of a deep black dial inspired by traditional sumi ink tones. Its defining feature is the bold “rock surface” texture, evoking the rugged depth and raw character of natural stone, balanced by a smooth satin outer ring for a refined two-layer design.

Arabic numerals and diamond-cut indexes reflect light sharply against the dark dial, creating a striking contrast that enhances depth and clarity. The silver-toned hands maintain a clean, unified look, while the red-accented luminous seconds hand tip draws inspiration from the iconic Kaminarimon gate in Asakusa. Blue-glowing lume on the hands and 12 o’clock marker ensures strong visibility in low light.

Quiet yet commanding, the IWAO SUMI reveals its layered texture and restrained character gradually, offering a subtle depth that becomes more captivating over time.
