Geneva, 31st March 2026 – At Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026, Gerald Charles unveils its most complex creation since its revival: the Masterlink Perpetual Calendar. Developed entirely in-house, this exceptional timepiece marks a new chapter for the Maison and introduces a true first in watchmaking—an asymmetrical, automatic perpetual calendar with a three-counter display.
Rooted in the “No Compromise” philosophy of founder Gérald Charles Genta, the watch reimagines one of horology’s most prestigious complications through a bold, architectural approach. Its sculpted form integrates case and movement into a unified design, achieving a rare harmony between aesthetics and mechanical innovation.
Unlike traditional shaped watches, the movement was designed first to match the asymmetrical case, eliminating unused space and creating a seamless structure. This approach results in a highly contemporary interpretation of the perpetual calendar, where form and function evolve together.
The dial layout prioritizes clarity and balance. Three large, non-concentric counters display calendar information in a way that significantly enhances legibility, overcoming the visual complexity often associated with perpetual calendars. The distinctive “smile” at 6 o’clock allows for an expanded date and moonphase display, adding both character and functionality.
The moonphase itself reflects the Maison’s pursuit of precision, engineered for exceptional long-term accuracy with advanced micromechanical solutions. This dedication to performance is matched by meticulous craftsmanship, with traditional decorative techniques applied throughout the movement, even in areas not immediately visible.
Innovation extends to materials and finishing, where proprietary treatments enhance durability while preserving a refined tactile and visual experience. Every surface, from case to bracelet, is carefully executed to balance sportiness with high-end finishing.
Comfort and wearability are guided by Gerald Charles’s Ergonteq® approach, ensuring that the watch sits naturally on the wrist despite its complex architecture. Practical usability is also central, with intuitive adjustment systems designed to simplify interaction with the perpetual calendar.
The Masterlink Perpetual Calendar represents a significant milestone for Gerald Charles, showcasing its growing technical expertise and commitment to pushing the boundaries of modern watchmaking while staying true to the creative legacy of its founder.
